Chatswood Transport Interchange

The Chatswood Transport Railway and bus interchange was designed by architects Cox Richardson / DesignInc, and includes a retail complex of some 80 shops, a residential development of 509 units in 3 iconic towers, and has an estimated value on completion in excess of $360 million. Chatswood is currently the ninth busiest station on the Sydney City Rail network and is used by some 35,000 rail commuters daily.  The project design includes over 2000 sqm’s of magnificent glass canopies that stretch over the development. Varying in size from 32m² to 500m² and ranging in height from 15m to 20m above the ground. The glass canopies are constantly exposed to the weather and break dust from the train system below. 

Application – EnduroShield™ For Glass was professionally applied to all of the glass canopies. The EnduroShield™ coating will protect the glass surfaces against the deteriorating effect of both the weather and brake dust, whilst making cleaning simpler and less frequent. 

Surry Hills Community Centre: A Benchmark in Green Design

EnduroShield permanent protective coating has been applied to the spectacular glass atrium of the new multi-purpose community centre at Crown Street, Surry Hills. The Sydney building houses a new library, as well as a neighbourhood centre and childcare facilities.

The new library spans two levels – the ground floor and the lower ground floor, and is linked by a glazed atrium filled with plants. The new centre sets a benchmark in environmentally sustainable design. To reduce reliance on air-conditioning an open-air atrium and rooftop plants naturally filter the air, solar cells provide power and tanks collect rain water.

The EnduroShield coating will assist in protecting the glazed surfaces by sealing the porosity of the glass. It will also protect against staining, etching and the general deterioration caused not only by weather and pollution, but also by the sprinkler system that will water the plants.

British Embassy Bangkok

In February 2009, the British Embassy Bangkok completed the major task of constructing 24 new residences on site to accommodate expatriate staff. The residences include a mix of 2, 3 & 4 bedroom apartments and homes. The residential complex is supported with leisure areas including a club with commercial kitchen, swimming pool and gymnasium.

Foxtel Head Office

The FOXTEL Television Centre at North Ryde in Sydney is the headquarters of FOXTEL's national subscription television operations and houses FOXTEL’s television studios and broadcast operations. With a beautifully designed interior fitout, the building boasts several semi transparent mirror finished feature walls. The glass walls are susceptible to finger marks and dust making them constantly appear dirty. Prior to treatment the mirrored glass was more difficult to clean than standard glass as the unique mirrored finish was prone to streak marks 

Application – EnduroShield™ For Glass was professionally applied to the mirror finished feature walls throughout the office building. EnduroShield™ reduces maintenance time and allows the surfaces to be easily cleaned without the need to use harsh chemicals.

RaboBank Head Office

Located in Sydney’s Cockle Bay foreshore development, The RaboBank occupies tower three of the Bovis Lend Lease Darling Park Development. The design included the extensive use of architectural stainless steel throughout the tower providing a distinctive appearance. Due to the rough bead blasted finish of the stainless steel and its proximity to the nearby harbour and main roads, it began to suffer from unsightly corrosion and pitting. 

Application – Successful trials of the EnduroShield™ protective coating for Stainless steel proved effective in prolonging and controlling the rapid return of the corrosion to the stainless steels surfaces. Following the successful trials, numerous stainless steel poles and facades at the inner city building were then restored and applied with EnduroShield™ for Stainless Steel. The benefits are in the dramatically improved appearance of the building and maintenance schedule.

Vaucluse Waters Apartment Building

The Vaucluse Waters Apartment Building is perched directly on the cliff face overlooking Diamond Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Due to its incredible location, the exterior windows of the building are extremely difficulty and costly to clean and maintain. The constant exposure to the salt water had severely corroded and permanently stained the originally installed glass, leading to all ocean side windows being replaced.  

Application – EnduroShield™ for Glass was applied to selected exterior windows overlooking the ocean to seal the porosity of the glass and protect them against salt etching and corrosion caused by the extremely harsh conditions that confront the building due to its location. Since the application the windows remain cleaner for longer, reducing the frequency of cleaning. The protective coating will eliminate the need for expensive future glass restoration.

Luxury Apartment, Circular Quay Apartments

This Circular Quay Luxury Apartment looks directly over the spectacular icons of the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. With over 200 sqm’s of glass balustrades and windows, maintaining this spectacular view was of the upmost importance to the clients and cleaning of the glass surfaces was extremely cumbersome and time consuming.  

Application – EnduroShield™ for Glass was applied to all balustrades and windows throughout the newly renovated harbour side Sydney penthouse. The coating will ensure the glass is protected from staining, discolouring and etching caused by salt water from the nearby harbour, allowing the glass to be easily cleaned back to its original pristine condition. Not only will the glass remain cleaner for longer, but cleaning time will also be reduced, ensuring the magnificent view is always enjoyed.

Luxury Residential Housing

Located on the foreshore of Sydney’s upper North Shore these magnificent multi-million dollar houses enjoy waterfront views of Sydney’s gorgeous harbour.  

Application - EnduroShield™ for Glass was applied to all balustrades, windows, glass doors and glass roofing of these prestigious homes to protect the surfaces against corrosion and etching caused by the salt water.

North Point Villas, Hamilton Island

The self-catering apartments and villas are nestled throughout the North-Western side of the Whitsunday Island. They offer visitors a private escape with water and bushland views. There are 19 villas and 15 plunge pools as part of the 5 star resort. 

Application – EnduroShield for Glass was professionally applied by EnduroShield Whitsundays. Product was applied to the glass windows and doors of the villas closest to the plunge pools. Each of the shower screens throughout the villas were also treated. The treated glass will be easier to clean resulting in lower maintenance costs.

Radisson Hotel & Suites, Sydney 

The 4½ star boutique hotel in central Sydney is undergoing interior renovations. To date approximately half of the shower screens in the hotel are now treated with EnduroShield for Glass. 

Application - As part of the refit of the Radisson Hotel & Suites Sydney, all new shower screens have been protected with EnduroShield for glass. EnduroShield will not only provide a long-term protective solution to the international hotel chain’s investment, but will also assist in reducing maintenance costs by minimising cleaning time and use of chemical cleaning products.

Luxury Residential Housing, Maroubra

Designed by architect, Geoff Ferris-Smith of Dimdidium Design, the four-storey home overlooking Maroubra Beach in Sydney has been designed to make the most of its seaside aspect. The building is divided into two homes, one for a young family and the other for their parents.

Application – EnduroShield for Glass has been applied to all exterior glass surfaces including windows, doors and balustrading. During stormy weather ocean spray can reach the homes so all of the glazed areas were professionally treated to reduce both the effects of salt etching and the cost and effort of cleaning.
